Central argument: According to Francis Bacon Religion is necessity because of the principles and ideas it provides. Therefore people should follow the religion and believe in them.

For some people in the world religion is everything, the only thing they follow. Such as the Hindu vegetarians who promised god that they will never eat any type of meat. In other hand there are Atheists who doesn’t believe in God at all; people who have never gone to a church or temple. According to Francis Bacon Religion is necessity because of the principles and ideas it provides. Therefore people should follow the religion and believe in them. But is it right for someone to force others to believe in something? Believe should come from the person’s heart the person’s willingness, not from others. I disagree with his statement of religion being necessity because religion can harm us, lead to false morals and even take the control over us.

According to Francis Bacon, religions provide us with lots of benefit. It is possible that some are actually getting benefit out of it, however, some are actually harming themselves and thinking they are getting benefit. Such as Hinduism, majority of Indians are vegetarians not because they are poor, some are; because they have strong believes. They are harming themselves with lack of proteins and fat, it is possible to consume fat and protein by eating vegetarian food, but it requires tons of them. It doesn’t only harm us physically, but also mentally. There are lots of psychopathic religions around the world, as an example in Korea; there was an incident where the parents believed in the dark magic (religion). And because God told them, according to husband, they injected over 20needles into their children’s body thinking that nothing is wrong. This clearly shows how strong believes in religion can actually harm us physically and mentally.

Leading into morality is one of the most important jobs religions do. They sometime teaches us lesson or even make us realize the wrong thinks we have done. Talking about morals in the religious group sometimes decreases crime rate, this shows how strong morality can get. However, not all morals are leading us to the correct path. About a month ago in South Korea, there was a family with three sick child who are only 3, 5 and 8years old. The parents of these children were strong Christian and because their children were sick they went to church to ask for an answer. The priest in the church said the family will have to fast and pray for few days to let the demon out of these children. After 4days all of the children died of hunger and this was only discovered after two weeks since their parents thought they could pray and revive the children back. This incident clearly shows how religions can sometime miss lead us into wrong morals.

Taking control over something is not as easy as how it sounds. You need to know what it likes or hate to keep them in favor and many more. Religions eventually take control over us and destroy us mentally and physically. The speech priest gives when you go to church the idea given from the temple, it might satisfy some of you, but it is basically slowly taking the control over us. Because people have strong believe in what the religions they seem to follow everything which is told by religion. We are no different from a slave listening to all the things by religion.

There are more religious people than non religious people in the world. Nobody knows who is taking the correct path or who will go to the heaven after death. All we are sure about is there is a god who has different visual to every single one of us. Therefore you cannot say religion actually benefit us.
